Please note that while the online version of Swapnet is still valid the on-air information is completely out of date. Our net control operators have moved on and the net no longer airs on Thursday nights.

It would be nice to get the listings on the air again. If you would be interested in becoming a net control for Swapnet please contact Mike at K5ATM@YAHOO.COM. If we can get enough interested operators we will update the text below and once again become a Thursday night event.

General Information

  • You can still tune in to Swapnet on Thursday nights on any Megalink or Upper Rio repeater and update / delete your listings on the air. A call for deletions and updates is made before the listings are read.
  • Listings are free to post. They will automatically expire after 45 days.
  • All listings and edits to listings must be approved by a site administrator. We will try to approve as quickly as we can. We may relax this in the future.
  • If you sell your item or find the item you are looking for please come back and delete your listing. You will need the code sent to you when you placed the add (more on that below)
  • Only list items that are related to Ham radio. There is flexibility here. For example, items such as computers can be used in Ham radio so they are allowed.
  • Swapnet listings may be read via RSS.

Discalmer

The New Mexico Swapnet assumes no responsibility for any item listed on this net. As with any online market place it is buyer beware. Please contact the web master  if you discover a suspicious or inappropriate listing.

Posting Instructions

There are only a couple of things you need to do to format a listing in a way that makes it easy for visitors and the Swapnet control operators find and manage information.

  1. Title Field: The listing’s category description (for sale, free, wanted, etc) will be copied to the listing’s title when viewed. So — don’t duplicate the category description by putting something like “for sale” in the title. If you do the words “for sale” will appear twice and it will look awkward.
  2. Name Field: Please use the format “Callsign, First-Name“. Example: K5ATM, Mike
  3. E-Mail address. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Your e-mail address will NOT be show in your listing. We need a valid address to send you an EDIT CODE. You will need the edit code to come back and update your listing or delete your listing.
  4. Phone Number: Include a phone number (with area code) so people interested in your item can contact you directly. If no area code is included we will assume 505.
  5. Price Field: Only fill in the price box if you are listing a single item for sale.
  6. Description Field: If you are listing multiple items, please number the items and include a price for each item if appropriate. Example: (1) Radio Shack HT with battery case. $200.
  7. QST Submission: If you are submitting a QST be sure to cover the 5Ws: what where, when, who (to contact), why.

That’s it. Have fun and good luck selling or finding stuff.
